Building Quincy Garage, Together

Keweenaw CAPE and Superior Fab Lab are partnering to create the Quincy Garage Makerspace in the Hancock Community Hub.

CAPE brings a passion for hands-on learning. Superior Fab Lab specializes in community engagement—connecting and empowering creative people. Together, we’re transforming an area of this historic space into a welcoming hub for making, learning, and collaboration.

Quincy Garage: Past, Present, and Future

We’re cleaning and refitting the former shop classroom at the old Hancock High School (now known as the Hancock Community Hub) to become the Quincy Garage Makerspace—a welcoming, community-driven hub for creativity, learning, and hands-on making.

As we prepare the space, we’re also collecting stories from people who took shop classes here in the past. These memories are an important part of the building’s legacy, and we’re working with the Keweenaw Time Traveler to help preserve them.
